One day in the fall as Cy DeCosse was wandering through the Minneapolis Farmer's Market, he came upon a pile of unusually shaped gourds and squashes. He took a basketful back to his studio and began to photograph them as people in different relationships: as acrobats, wrestlers, lovers and simply as friends.
